Are The Americans Going To Respond To The Climate Change?

The National Audubon Society has released a report this week in which they have warned that the climate change is responsible for the migration of the bird species northward in the North America. They said in the report that hundreds of the bird species will leave the place more than semi of their present range over the upcoming few decades.

Gary Langham, who is the chief scientific officer of the Audubon Society while talking to the media, said that migrated bird species from the United States are moved towards the north into Canada. He also added, the only way for survival of these species is to make sure that there will be habitats in the north of Canada for them to migrate to.

It is not for the first time that a warning is issued by a credible authority about the effects of the climate change. In fact, it will not be the last. But, the Americans are disreputably unconvinced on the effects of both global warning and climate change.

There are a few signs now that signal that the attitude is now beginning to change a little. The huge concern is starting to develop among the public health experts and the business leaders. Even some diehard conservatives are concerned about this fact including the former Republican office holders.

Washington Post and ABC conducted a poll survey; according to which 70% of the Americans are now seeing the issue as a serious one and they believe that the pollution, that is leading to the global warming should be reduced in an attempt to tackle it.

The EPA has called for a proposal this June for bringing down the carbon pollution to 30% by 2030. And that is for the first time ever that the national limits have been proposed for the carbon emissions from the power plants that is the major source of the carbon pollution in the United States.

People in the US have started to feel the serious issue and a march of hundreds of thousands of the protesters is expected for the climate concern at the arrival of the international leaders for the “UN Climate Summit” on the 21st of September.

The question is, will it make a change? According to the perceptions of the protesters, they hope this visible demonstration will boost up the number of Americans to ask their representatives to consider the climate change seriously.

In the meantime, Gary Langham warns that the rising sea levels, creeping urbanization and the deforestation are lessening the natural habitats of the many species. The bald eagle that is one of the US success stories of nature conservation could lose as much as 74% of its habits till 2080.

Scientists said that it is just a beginning of returning the environment to what it was before the start of the industrial revolution.

The experts from the World Meteorological Organization and the UN Environment Program published the findings about the rehabilitation of the ozone layer.

There is a serious hope if the Americans start to believe and take the climate change seriously, then the rehabilitation of the Earth’s atmosphere could follow.
